Driving Directions

From Highway 101 North & South

Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Street as it enters the university. Stay in the left lane and continue toward the center of campus.
Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation is located on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive.

From Highway 280 North & South

Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the first stoplight, Campus Drive West.
Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation is located on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive.

From El Camino Real

Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Turn toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Go through one traffic light, and turn left onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. Arrillaga Family Recreation Center is located on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive.

From Foothill Expressway

As Foothill Expressway crosses Page Mill Road, it becomes Junipero Serra Boulevard. Take a right on Campus Drive West (the third stoplight beyond Page Mill). Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation is located on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive.

Parking

Parking for Cardinal Classic is available On Galvez St., Memorial Way, in Maples Parking Lot, and in Galvez Field.

Please allow additional time for parking as there are other campus activities this weekend.

Travelling

From San Jose International Airport

Public transportation

  1. From the airport, take the free VTA Airport Flyer to the SANTA CLARA Caltrain station buy ticket before getting on the train or pay big fines!
  2. Take the Northbound Caltrain to PALO ALTO
  3. Transfer to the Marguerite (free Stanford shuttle service) to get on campus, or take a cab

Shuttle Bus/Limo

  1. In the airport look for signs for airport shuttle/ask information
  2. You can either arrange a shuttle or limo beforehand or take whatever is there- no reservation is required

From San Francisco International Airport

Public Transportation

  1. Take the airtran from wherever you are in the airport to the BART Train
  2. Take the BART from the airport to MILBRAE
  3. Get off at MILBRAE and transfer to the Southbound Caltrain. buy ticket before you get on the train- otherwise there is a big fine!!
  4. Take the CALTRAIN to the PALO ALTO stop
  5. Follow the signs to the MARGUIERITE (free Stanford shuttle) to take on campus, or you can call a cab

Shuttle Bus/Limo

  1. While leaving the airport, look for signs for "shuttle service"- you have to leave the airport
  2. You can either arrange a shuttle beforehand or take whatever is there- no reservation is required

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and San Jose International Airport (SJC) are virtually equidistant from Stanford. SJC is a somewhat smaller airport and tends to be easier to navigate.
